Art Pavilion Burgbrohl

In her time as Artist-in-Residence at the art pavilion in Burgbrohl, the sound artist and blow the Tinker has developed new projects and concepts. In addition, she was included in the other programs of the AIM e. V.: In the context of the art workshop Nathalia has given Grotenhuis to the IGS Remagen Workshops: with the grade level 7 "of the instruments built", with the 9 dubbed a "radio play", and 11 "experimental music tested".

For the exhibition "Collector's playground" improvised Nathalia Grotenhuis on the occasion of the Open GAMES-afternoons with the materials from the collection. A special Highlight of the concert Performance CIRCLES with musicians and singers*the inside of the Region in the Emperor hall Burgbrohl.

It is the specific acoustic characteristics of the dome of the Imperial hall, which provoked the artist and the contributors to the special sound experiments. The samples were made as a "work in progress". The room was seen as a "private players". The performers acted and reacted on this acoustic "players" with the instruments, objects, and the use of the voice. The special acoustics of the hall allows each individual listeners to be "private concert".

Nathalia Grotenhuis is convinced that experimental and contemporary music, and art projects in the Imperial hall in Burgbrohl Sound, find a unique space, the new musical and artistic approaches demands.

Nathalia Grotenhuis, born in 1984, in Kleve, studied musicology at the Johannes-Gutenberg University of Mainz. From 2005-2011, she completed a diploma in music teacher with a major in classical percussion at the Hochschule für Musik Rheinland-Pfalz in Mainz, Germany. In 2013, she earned her Master's degree in orchestral music with a major in percussion. In 2015, she graduated with a Master's degree in sound art / composition at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz. From 2015 to 2017, she taught sound art, composition, and New music at the Hochschule für Musik in Mainz. Her range of performances is large: it ranges from radio concert in Germany Radio culture, to the sound of improvisation, experimental music theatre, sound collage, sound installations, Solo sound, improvisation, concerts, and Solo percussion and Solo Marimba.
