During her time as artist-in-residence at the Kunstpavillon Burgbrohl, the sound artist and percussionist has developed new projects and concepts. She has also been involved in the other programs of the AIM e.V: As part of the KunstWerkstatt, Nathalia Grotenhuis gave workshops at IGS Remagen: with class 7 "building instruments", with class 9 "setting a radio play to music" and with class 11 "testing experimental music".

On the occasion of the exhibition "Collector's playground" Nathalia Grotenhuis improvised with materials from the game collection during the Open GAMES afternoons. A special highlight was the concert performance CIRCLES with musicians* and singers* from the region in the Kaiserhalle Burgbrohl.

It is the very special acoustic characteristics of the domed structure of the Kaiserhalle that attracted the artist and the participants to special sound experiments. The rehearsals took place as a "work in progress". The room was seen as a "player in its own right". The performers acted and reacted to this acoustic "player" with instruments, objects and the use of the voice. The special acoustics of the hall enable each individual listener to experience his or her "own concert".

Nathalia Grotenhuis is convinced that experimental and contemporary music and sound art projects will find a unique space in the KAISERHALLE in Burgbrohl that calls for new musical and artistic approaches.
