Audio-visual Installation of Bewernitz / Goldowski

The Cologne-based artist Duo Natalie Bewernitz and Marek Goldowski shows through its broad-based artistic practices between Installation, sound performance and audio production with a value range of remarkable artistic Work with sound. Bewernitz/Goldowski disclose that exists hidden, without an awareness of this. You want to let the sound of the things in the world of the Visible, perceptible. On the occasion of your visit to New York, 2006-2007, they were inspired by the water tower and took in the sounds of the resonating body, where the sounds of pumps, and valves with noisy voices from the house, with train, subway and bridge sounds mix with a Hydrophone and contact microphones.

The computer translated the sounds into visual patterns, which were layered and reproduced placed over digitized photographs of water towers. Natalie Bewernitz and Marek Goldowski working together since 2000 and have both studied at the Academy of media arts Cologne (KHM).  In 2006/2007, they received the "New York" scholarship of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. This "Artists in Residence"program at Location One in New York to foreign countries then followed stays in Finland, China and Japan. She received numerous scholarships and grants, such as the sound art scholarship of the state of lower Saxony, a scholarship of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and the promotion of the arts Foundation of North Rhine Westphalia. Her works have been shown nationally and internationally at places such as the Chelsea Art Museum, New York, 798 Art Festival, Beijing, ISEA Singapore in 2008, Siggraph Asia 2009, Yokohama, the Artothek, Cologne and artQ13 Rome.
