Each year, an exhibition in the ArtLab of the art pavilion Burgbrohl is dealing with works from the estate of Manfred Hammes in the context of the artist's life and work. In 2016, the sculptures were shown in the outdoor area of Manfred Hammes and Ulrich Görtz. With Ulrich Görtz under Manfred held a life-long artist-friendship.

Manfred Hammes, geb. In 1954 and 2006, died in Andernach, was a passionate painter, Explorer, experimenter. Great theme of his memorable pictures of the landscape, combined with an ethno band, his Signet and sign stand for the people: the seer, the eyes of man, figure, head. In a specially developed image this image vary the elements in the structure and in the painting techniques. Since 1992, elements of the picture in the room as colourful Cut-outs in wood, and, finally, starting in 1993, in steel, for example, the great seer figure, moved by means of solar energy and Wind. With these sculptural Work, he took part in many public tenders and won some of the art-in-architecture-orders. Ulrich Görtz, born in 1963 in Altenahr, completed only a stonemason apprenticeship in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, before he started in 1987, the study of the liberal arts at the University of applied Sciences Köln. He graduated in 1993 as a master student of Professor Karl Burgeff.

Ulrich Görtz sculptor's work is unique, his Repertoire includes the roles of people and animals in a special way. Whether it's slim and slender Design, which remind a bit of Wilhelm lehmbruck, whether it be squat, round, whether of animals or objects, the artist is also one of his "characters", must have you, so Görtz, a "good architecture".
